Programs

We use creative projects to reinforce learning of our curriculum themes, such as building personal aquariums after conducting researching oceans.

Through community partnerships, we provide valuable learning experiences for participants such as the York Regional Police Community Safety Village.

Our computer resource area provides formal and informal computer skills development including typing and conducting internet searches.

We offer culinary classes in our day, extended and respite programs. With staff assistance, participants complete the grocery shopping and then prepare healthy meals and desserts.

Exercise is part of every day at Clario Place, whether it is using our newly completed gym, dancing to Zumba, or walking outside.

From spring through to fall, we garden weekly growing flowers and vegetables in plots located at the back of our building.

In our life skills programming, the importance of money handling is taught through lessons of basic budgeting, making cash payments, counting change and more.

We select a variety of topics and activities to use as research projects providing opportunities for participants to learn by working on directed and self-directed projects.

Working with various community partners, participants complete volunteer projects such as making the centerpieces for the Character Community Awards.
